Hood County will receive competitive sealed Bids for Pavement Improvements Along Acton Highway until 2:00 PM local time on March 14, 2017, at the Hood County Annex III located at 1402 W. Pearl Street, Suite 1, Granbury, Hood County, Texas 76048, where they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Late bids will not be accepted and returned unopened. Hood County is not responsible for bids that arrive late due to the delivery method the vendor has chosen by courier, UPS, FEDX, USPS or any other company that performs this service. Please be sure to give ample time for the bid to be delivered prior to or no later than 2:00 PM March 14, 2017. Bids shall be addressed to Nelda Walters, Hood County Purchasing Agent. Bid document # RFB-2017-001 Street Surface Improvements - Acton Hwy should be referenced on the exterior of the envelope or bid packet that is submitted. Bidding Documents and Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be examined at: HOOD COUNTY/Don Linney Road Operations, Annex III 1402 W. Pearl Street, Ste. 2 Granbury, Texas 76048 Copies of the Bidding Documents and Contract Documents including Technical Specifications may be obtained at the address shown above for a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per set. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Cashier's Check or Bid Bond, acceptable to the Owner, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a proper Contract and execute Bonds on the forms provided in the Contract Documents. Bid sureties will be returned, upon request, to all but the three lowest acceptable bidders within five days after the opening of Bids. Remaining bid sureties will be returned, upon request, after complete execution of the Contract. The surety company providing the Bid Bond must conform to the same requirements for surety companies providing Performance and Maintenance Bonds, and Payment Bonds as described below. The successful bidder must furnish a Payment Bond on the forms furnished with the Contract Documents in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract price, from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety. The surety company must have a minimum Best's Key Rating of "B" or better. The surety company, the agency and agent issuing the Payment Bond must be authorized to issue such bonds in Texas in an amount equal to or greater than the total contract price. In submitting this Bid, Bidder hereby acknowledges that the time of completion is the essence of this contract and that bidder has adequate equipment and manpower to complete the work within 80 calendar days of the award of the contract.
