The City of Cresson, Texas will receive sealed bids at the Cresson City Hall, 8901 E US Hwy 377, Cresson, Texas 76035, for the TDA CDBG project 7218101, Bluebonnet Hills Trinity Sand Deep Well 3A and Pump at Plant No. 3 until 2:00 PM (CDT) on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 PM (CDT) on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Cresson City Hall, 8901 E US Hwy 377, Cresson, Texas 76035. Bidders are encouraged to verify delivery schedules for overnight couriers to this address.
Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows:
- One Trinity Sand Deep Well and Pump
- Connection to Existing Ground Storage Tank
- Electrical and controls
- Intruder Resistant Fencing
- Yard piping and fittings
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted at 11:30 AM, October 3, 2019 at the City of Cresson City Hall, 8901 E US Hwy 377, Cresson, Texas 76035. Bidders are encouraged to inspect the project site and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions prior to submitting bids.
Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at Childress Engineers 211 N. Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033 Phone: 817/ 645-1118. Documents may be viewed at Cresson City Hall. Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be purchased from Childress Engineers for $50.00 for each set of documents obtained.
A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Cresson or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The bid security must be enclosed in the same envelope with the bid.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City encourages participation of all HUD, DBE, MBE, WBE and Section 3 firms in the bidding and construction of this project.
The City of Cresson reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Cresson for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
